Kate Soper’s chamber opera Ipsa Dixit for soprano, flute, violin, and percussion. An exquisite, hyper-virtuosic opera with truly unique surprises that audiences feel viscerally, Ipsa Dixit was called “comprehensively astounding” and “a twenty-first century masterpiece” (The New Yorker), and was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize. Angela Brown, soprano in Seattle Opera’s production of Charlie Parker’s Yardbird that week and the following week, will also perform with the quartet.
